Music systems have become an essential one for us as it helps us to relax from our pressures. Loudness and the clarity of the music talk a lot about the quality of the system we use. To increase the loudness and clarity of the music we use amplifiers. After reading this article you will know how to connect an original car stereo to an amp.
There are few tools which are found useful in connecting an original car stereo to an amp. It includes speaker wire, rubber grommets, wiring harness adapter, amplifier wiring kit, drill, Philips head screw driver, trim panel tool, rubber spacers.
First of all the negative cable has to be disconnected from the battery. This cable gives the connection between the negative lead and the vehicle. The clamp of the cable is removed using a screw driver .It is left undisturbed until the process is completed.
With the help of a Philips screw driver the positive lead cable is connected to the ring terminal of the amplifier. Before being connected to the amplifier the fuse is removed from the ring terminal. A hole is drilled into the engine compartment’s firewall. Through this hole only the power is supplied to the amplifier location from the car battery. The wiring protection is important and for that one must use a rubber grommet for covering that hole.
Once again with the help of a screw driver, the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the ring terminal of the amplifier. Before making this connection make sure that the fuse wire is removed from the ring terminal.
The cables are drawn to the amplifier location. The panel protecting the carpeting is removed using a panel tool. Now the cables are placed below the carpeting and our hands are used in the place of the panels. The cables used for power supply are drawn starting from the battery up to the amplifier. Then the cables and the leads are connected to amplifier.
The stereo system of the car is removed. The process of removing it varies from one car to another and so it is better to go through the user’s manual before doing this job. Take out the stereo so that the wires in the back side of the stereo can be accessed easily. Now the wires attached to the stereo system are removed. Then the wires are connected to a adapter. This connection is easy to make because all the wires are colour coded.
In the next step two more wires are connected to the adapter those includes a signal cable and another is the turn on lead. From this the cables are brought to the location of the amplifier. Then connect the speakers and give power supply to the amplifier. And in the end connect the fuse. So one must always know how to connect an original car stereo to an amp.
